The story of the Nativity – the miracle and mystery of Jesus’ birth – has many layers. In this year’s Christmas service, we focussed on the theme of ‘He Came Before Me’. His birth is the culmination and climax of centuries of prophecy and promise – but it was only the beginning of the path Jesus would walk before us. As the “firstborn among many brothers and sisters” (Romans 8:29), Jesus is our Brother, and the only way back to the Father.
