Judas knew who Jesus was and loved Him, yet he didn’t just follow Jesus because of who He was, he used Jesus for his purposes. It is a stark warning that closeness to Jesus alone does not mean you will surrender your will to Him or be transformed by the work of His Spirit in your life. True love is always looking to be expressed to the one you love. Love is not measured and does not take anything for itself.
