Martha knew who Jesus was and believed in Him. She loved Jesus and He her. This was at least the third time Jesus had come to her house. But Martha’s response highlights how we can limit our responses to what we know, have previously given or feel comfortable with. For Martha still valued her ways rather than just the one who she loved. She gave from a distance and paid the price she was willing to pay instead of giving her self.
